  • This form is only applicable for requesting a refund for fees paid for topics or study withdrawn prior to the census date. Students wishing to apply for a refund for topics withdrawn from or failed after the census date should refer to the refunds, special consideration and remissions website.

      Unforeseen family reasons have occurred or worsened after you accepted your offer, are beyond your control and mean you are unable to continue or successfully complete your studies. You need to substantiate how the circumstances impact you personally and make it impracticable for you to complete your studies.

      Examples:

      • Death or serious illness of a close family member (e.g. parent, sibling, spouse or child) or friend
      • Being a victim of a severe crime or accident

      Examples of supporting documentation:

      • Letter or professional statement from a medical practitioner, counsellor, police or social worker
      • Death certificate/funeral notice
      • Flight tickets if you have returned or are returning home

      • A letter or professional statement from a medical practitioner or counsellor confirming dates of appointments including information such as:
        • The date which your medical condition became known or worsened during the applicable period
        • How your medical condition impacted on your ability to study
      • Flight tickets if you have returned or are returning home

      Please provide evidence of your change in residency status. Your application will be assessed as per the International Student Tuition Fees Procedure Policy section 4.11.

      If you have been admitted into your course and changed your residency status before the relevant census date you may be eligible for a refund.

      Applicants requesting a refund for the Doctor of Medicine will need to refer to their offer letter for details on eligibility for a refund.

      To confirm your study at another registered provider, please provide your new offer letter and CoE. Please additionally upload a copy of the release letter request outcome in your application.
