Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2025 Vice-Chancellor's Award for Mid-Career Researchers.

This award is open for self-nomination rather than peer nomination. Rules and eligibility information are available in the Award Guidelines.

    Online application form:

In this Jotform application, you will provide your details, summarise your research achievements, and upload two ResearchNow reports (both available as a pdf via FLIP):

    • your summary of research outputs,
    • your summary of research projects/awards (i.e., grants).

If you would like to have a preview of the questions to draft your responses, you can download a Word version of this application form here.

    ResearchNow reports:

Step-by-step instructions to obtain the two summary documents from FLIP are available here.

Please note: These ResearchNow reports will be considered the source of truth for your research outputs and your research grants. The committee will not consider additional publications or research grants that are not included in the ResearchNow reports. As such, please ensure that your ResearchNow records are up to date. This post provides advice about whom to contact to correct errors in your data.

    Submission:

You will submit your application online via this Jotform. You can save your progress and return to your application later. Once you submit your application, a confirmation email will be sent to you with a record of your responses. We encourage you to check your responses to confirm that your application is complete and accurate.

Please note: 1. For your publications: The Committee will see your full list of research outputs from your ResearchNow report. In this section, you should: a. provide additional context about your outputs, such as the standard of your publications within your discipline and your role in multi-authored publications, and b. highlight your top 5 publications and, using up to two lines of text for each of the selected career-best outputs, provide clear information about its research impact. Rather than repeat the full citation details, please refer to your publications by the name of the first author and year. 2. When explaining the impact of your research, you can speak to impact within and/or outside of academia (i.e., citation metrics or evidence that it has been adopted, adapted for use, or used to inform further research). 3. For your fellowships, awards, or prizes: Provide context so the Committee can appreciate the significance of the recognition you have received. 4. For your grants: The Committee will see your full list of research grants in your ResearchNow report. Please provide context about your grants and explain your role if your grant(s) involved multiple investigators. Rather than repeat full grant details, please refer to them by the name(s) of the investigator(s) and year. 5. For your patents: Provide context so the Committee can appropriately judge the significance of this work and how it relates to your research.
